【摘要】:Thisguidesuggestsphysical,chemical,andtoxicologicaltestmethodsforcharacterizinghydrocarbonlubricantbaseoilsderivedfromvariousrefiningprocessesincludingre-refining,usedoils,andrefiningcrudeoil.Thisguidedoesnotpurporttocoveralltestswhichcouldbeemployed.Itistheresponsibilityofthebuyerandsellertodetermineandagreeupontheimplementationofthisguide.Thisguideappliesonlytobaseoilsandnottofinishedlubricants.Thisguideisrelevanttobaseoilscomposedofhydrocarbonsandintendedforuseinformulatingproductsincludingautomotiveandindustriallubricants.Thesebaseoilswouldtypicallyhaveaviscosityofapproximately2to40mm2/s(cSt)at100?C(50to3740SUSat100?F).Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
